It has an abundance of natural beauty and history that go hand in hand with the therapeutic waters from the hills. It was the pure water of the Malvern Hills springs that first attracted the iron-age builders of The British Camp, and hundreds of years later, the founders of Malvern's two medieval priories. In the 19th century, Malvern became a spa town of note that attracted people of culture and elegance like Sir Edward Elgar and George Bernard Shaw.
